Assistant General Manager Finance

Financial Reporting

  • Review and approve monthly investment holdings and group reporting accordance with MERS.
  • Oversee quarterly and annual consolidation reports (including Bursa announcement & Board papers) in accordance with MFRS and Bursa requirements.
  • Presentation of financial reporting and analysis for investment holding companies to management for decision making
  • Liaise with external auditors

 

Tax compliance

  • Oversee all tax matters including corporate tax, SST, RPGI, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and estimates for investment holding companies.
  • Provide tax updates / key changes for all business units
  • Propose and execution for tax planning
  • Manage tax audits or investigations and liaise with tax agent

 

Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow

  • Review budget, forecast and cashflow projections from the compilation for group reporting and investment holding
  • Presentation of budget, forecast slides, cashflow projections and financial analysis for investment holding to management for decision making
  • Coordinate and review business units on assumptions and submissions

 

Treasury & funding management

  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements for entire Group
  • Monitor effective cash management
  • Obtain new banking facilities or loan restructuring
  • Compliance with banking covenants
  • Verify payment vouchers and approved payment up to RM5k for investment holding companies.

 

ESG compliance, risk management compliance and special projects / coordinator

  • Review quarterly ESG report and policies
  • Review quarterly and annually related party transactions, recurrent related party transactions, group risk and divisional risk reports
  • Coordinate with Internal Auditor on internal audit reports

 

 

Improve business process/ policies/ procedures

  • Propose for process improvement / best practices
  • Propose & Support enhancement and automation process
  • Ensure consistency across division
  • Review and update the Limits of Authority (LOA)

 

Strong leadership, talent development, and team performance across Group Finance

  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance staff
  • Drive performance culture and accountability

 

Special projects & ad-hoc assignments

  • Undertake special projects, assignments, and initiatives as directed by GCFO
  • Support urgent regulatory, operational, or corporate requirements a s needed

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in property development industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, and project accounting.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a finance team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
