Senior Manager/ Head Finance

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to delivers effective finance, and accounting by providing positive and professional leadership to staff ensuring that the department delivers effective support to the activities of the Group Property Division.
  • Develops, analyses, and interprets accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
  • Prepare and deliver budgeted Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Involved in yearly business plan preparation, cash flow management and dealing with Group Treasury.
  • Maintain policies and procedures that require sufficient level of control over treasury activities/function.
  • Performs management reporting and policymaking as it pertains to the Department. Serves as the corporate finance expert for technical and analytical guidance in identifying and solving problems within the functional limits of the Department.
  • Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient and furnishes external reports as necessary.
  • Maintains the company’s system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
  • Ensure the system of internal controls and the system of accounting controls are in place and functioning properly.
  • Presents financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ensure tax computation are accurate and liaise with tax agent to ensure timely submission.
  • Responsible for tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, and other applicable taxes.
  • Ensuring sufficient funds are available for ongoing project/operational requirements. Forecast cash flow positions, borrowings requirements and monitoring of covenants.
  • Ensures that a cash management process is in place and functioning to monitor and control cash requirements.
  • Coordinates any relevant audit of the financial records with the auditors.
  • Ensure the statutory accounts are prepared accurately and in accordance with approved Accounting Standards.
  • Other duties as and when required and directed by superior.

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Strong working knowledge of MFRS, taxation, compliance and financial modelling.
  • Strong managerial skills, including motivating, developing, coaching and leading teams.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write concisely, straight forward and jargon free material and the ability to present complex technical issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong business ethics with high level of integrity and confidentiality.

 

Requirements:

  • Professional qualification in ACCA/CIMA/CPA or Degree in Accountancy or Finance.
  • More than 10 years’ working experience in finance and accounting with proven leadership skills in managerial position.
  • Experiences in property industry or corporate background is an added advantage.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to clearly present financial data in reports distributed to Senior Management and above.
  • Candidate must be willing to be based in Senai, Johor and willing to travel if needed.
